Almonds are one of the nutritious healthy snack consumed all over the world, they are oval and buttery in taste. Almonds can be consumed as quick snack or as shakes with milk and can also be used as detoxifying drink when mixed with fruits and vegetables. Romans shower the bride and groom with almonds as a blessing of fertility. Almonds are used in the bread served as a food for the Pharaohs.
Almonds belong to the family member of stone fruit which includes peaches, plums and nectarines.
There are 3 different variety of almonds
Sweet almonds- These almonds are sweet and creamy in taste, most consumed have almost 85% stake in Almond market. They are larger in size.
Mamra Almonds- They are cultivated in area of Iran and Afghanistan and some Middle East countries. They are the purest form of almond grown organically. They are little bitter in taste. Mamra almonds have high oil fat (75.50) when compared to California almonds (40.56).
Gurbandi Almonds- They are bitter in taste cultivated in the region of Kabul at Afghanistan, They are smaller in size. They have high nutrition content than California almonds.
